Hi ya'll!
I posted this in the 'wanted' section, but am hoping one of you guys might have (or know where I can get) one.

I am looking for a:
ISA 8-bit VGA card with a DB15 pin connector.

It is to upgrade a Tandy 1000SL/2 from it's onboard video. (a DB9 pin which I don't have a monitor for at the moment)

If you've got one you want to part with, please PM me with a price.

Thanks!

Try eBay. I'm using an AHEAD 8-bit VGA 640x480 into a small 15" Dell flat screen on my 1000SX - works great. Think I paid about $10.00 for it

EBay 8 bit VGA cards are WAY OVERPRICED!!
Lotsa Tandy Monitors on eBay as an alternative, but shipping to Canada is aweful!
It seems once the CAD rises above the USD, the shipping skyrockets!!
Anyhow, got a line on a CM5 locally, so I think the VGA card can wait for now...BUT...
...If you have a card you want to get rid of, I'm still interested!

Thanks again!

FWIW, I would be very sure you want a CM5, as they are nearly universally considered among the worst CGA monitors out there.

Also, many 16 bit VGA cards work just fine in 8 bit slots. I tested all of mine and I think about 60-70% of them worked in my XT.
So, if the MB doesn't obstruct the card from being fully inserted, you could try that.

OAK cards that I tried, in general work, in my experience.

Yes, the CM5 is awful. I was given one with a working Tandy 1000-series machine (HX perhaps?) but never used it after the first bit of experience with it.

yup that's a 9 pin EGA card
Yeah it was an EGA. Point is you can find this stuff, cheap, with a little persistance. I'll have to admit that there are a few sellers on eBay that are taking advantage of the present market. The only reason they have outragous prices is because they know there is someone out there will to pay.
