Hi guys,

I picked up a cool 286 last week, a Mitac with an AST RAM card that has 4MB installed. It has the drivers installed and working - and I wanted to post the files in case anyone can use them. (Or modem7 wants to put them on his AWESOME web page!)

When I got it, the CMOS battery was dead and it wouldn't boot from the HDD. After an adventure using AA batteries and using FTP on my 486 to get GSETUP onto a 5.25" disk, I guessed the hard drive type and got it to boot. On the hard drive was the original setup program... fit for "Phoenix 80286 ROM BIOS version 3.07" - there's a good searchable term for future reference :)

Hey again,

I dumped the ROM's, file attached here: View attachment PH307.zip
The link on the first post of this thread is the CMOS setup program - it runs through a series of questions to set the CMOS settings.

Below are pics of the AST Card. It's a 'Rampage Plus 286'

Also, some of you might remember the 286 I found on hard rubbish at Christmas (thread here) - I have dumped the ROMs for that one too. It was the one that has a setup program and some cool diags and LLF utility built in.
