Not at all common. The Sun Ray 2N was test marketed in Japan only for a fairly brief period. Occasionally they'll pop up on Yahoo Japan for stupid money (even this one was a few hundred bucks, though that seemed reasonable given the rarity and the completeness of the kit). I haven't seen a Gobi in a long time, and the two I had prior to this one were acquired over years.

If you just want a Sun Ray laptop, the Tadpole M1400 is not hard to find with a little patience, but it's just a Celeron-based system, so it's not too interesting other than the firmware.
