I generally don't like Big Parties myself cause I generally
don't them myself. I would like to think that a lot of my
friends understand & that I don't like them or something. What
I do love is how some of my friends hold seperate parties at
seperate venues over a period of a fourtnight - so they might
have a party with the fam & a party with Friends - just
depending on who their friends are - they might have two. I
think it's great how they do that.

Another friend of mine has invited me to his bday - generally
they do have a lot of people comming - only cause they invite
people who need other people to attend (friends of friends) -
don't know how they got into that loop-hole, though it
wouldn't be happening at any of my Bday parties. Generally
there'll be a lot of people who'll attend that I don't know -
which has happened to be before - usually it results in me
being the guy wanderning around without anyone to talk to -
anyone ever seen Peter Sellers in The Party walking around
after something's gone wrong - Birdy num num! :-D

Is there some sort of code ethics people have to do when at a
party - I mean how do you get into a group a raise
conversations - guess it's the people your with & the subject
matter their discussing. Do people seem to magically find
themselves to the right people 100% all the time. I must admit
I am a good listener when people talk about their problems &
cause people usually like that. Other people yack on til the
cows come home & it's disinteresting. Perhaps I should
practice on my Rodney Dangerfield - he was the Party! :-D

I guess I have the same problem. Many's the time I've found myself all alone at a party of 1500 - 2000 people (we throw BIG keggers in Michigan). My best solution is to just bring a friend when going to such an event.

Yeah well for this party coming up - fortunately their
inviting some friends that I do know & their in the same
position as myself. I think to be good at parties you need to
have good stories which get people hooked on, but there's also
that group of people who just talk about nothing & talk & talk
& talk, talkings fine - but there's a limit & after a while it
just a yawn <yawn>.

The movies The Party with Peter Sellers has all that, plus the
bubble bath - surely to have a Party with none of that, must
be a dull party. What you don't need are the Crashers. Other
parties are really pointless cause you can't hear anyone over
the music - I highly dislike that kind. Getting out early, now
that I like.

An Interesting party I went to a few years ago was with a Work
Friend who invited me to this place with some of his Friends.
When I got there, he hadn't turned up, but his friends were
there & cause they'd give you the who are you routine. It was
almost like being at a job interview - 4 or 5 people all
looking at you & cause you have to give your story where you
know this other person from and simply some funny stories
about yourself. After a while you got to know them well & they
turned out to be nice people - it's just a bit scarey when you
meet some people you don't know & they give you the run over!

Actually, my preference is those big, anonymous parties. Smaller get-togethers, where you're actually *expected* to interact with the other guests kinda give me daCreeps.

Nope, don't like them - cause I feel like what's the point of
going to one - when I simply say to myself on the way home -
why do I bother. The party coming up is a little different -
so I'll go. Problem is you need the right group of people, I
think this party will at least have some of us pushing our
statements around, asking questions, getting answers - they
might walk away feeling intimidated, though I get that from
some of these parties.

I like a party with a good range of people of various ages,
yesturday was a little different - having a lunch out with
relatives - but their people I know & am comfortable with,
sure they might make a scene - but it's typical of their
behavour which you get used to over time.

Around here, if you want to become the life of the party, bring drugs. Then again, I live out in the sticks where the only thing to do is hump anything with a hole and do gratuitous ammounts of drugs that would make Leary cringe.

Both types of parties have their places. Being out in the sticks, tripple keggers are fairly common if you can get an invite (since they do their own security). Small get-togethers happen almost daily around me. Although I'm still trying to come up with something to do tonight (and it's 11PM!)...

Personaly, I'm all about gettogethers, but at the same time I crave anonymous interaction. The bars around here suck anyway :\
