Power Macintosh 8600 DAV Connector

I have an Avid Cinema Kit which is essentially an MJPEG accelerator on a PCI card and it's supposed to plug into the 60 pin DAV connector on select machines such as the 6400 (with the correct A/V card). The 60 pin DAV connector is apparently also present on other machines such as the 7200, 7500, 8500 and 9500 macs (probably on the Personality Module) but I have an 8600 here and it too has a 60 pin DAV header at the bottom of the logic board and from the last time I used an 8600 as a daily recall the video capture was terrible from stock. Thing is it has the connector offset from the PCI slot, so the cable that came with the card isn't long enough. Before I go and make my own cable was the 60 pin DAV unchanged for its lifetime and will this configuration work?

I am playing with my 8600 recently and like to make it a productive machine again. As I got it very late (some day 2005 or something, and didn´t use it very often as I had my Umax S900 back than) I don´t know the motherboard very well. Now I tried to understand everything. So what is the DAV...

Funny enough, I remember that thread but I guess they had a forum upgrade and broke the image I had attached (Note to self: check image catalog and see if CRW_7326.jpg is in there from before the move). Even then I was never able to get a straight answer out of anyone there.
