The graphics chip in my Presario 3020 claims to be capable of hardware scaling, according to this page:

http://www.vga.pe.kr/3dp/s3/Mobile/overview/po29m1.php

Drivers and software don't seem capable of toggling this feature, is there a DOS TSR or a key combination on a machine like this to toggle scaling of lower-than-native resolutions?

Anybody know a generic alternative?

If somebody can solve this, I will let them have one of the things I'm selling in my other thread for price of shipping, even if it's a whole machine or whatever (not the Portrait Display though, that's too valuable).

Alright - even the portrait display. I'll offer two items of value that I am selling in exchange for a solution to my problem here, cost of shipping only.

The biggest problem with these machines seems to be the lack of support. Not even HP has the site right. It seems like this machine was abandoned soon after it was made or something... Maybe there's another driver that can be used I wonder?

Edit: It seems like maybe Compaq scaled this card down a bit to save cost. This is a laptop chipset but in the 3020's it's on an ISA card with a special display connector.

Laptop chipsets usually have a stretch option in the bios, but since it's a desktop machine you may be out of luck for that support. But is it a laptop or desktop? Same model number seems to come up for both.
