problem?

Actually, it was even worse then just the board dying.

My entire host vanished from the net for over 30 minutes this morning. That took my email, website and these message boards with it.

Once they came back on line stuff started coming back slowly. The website was amongst the first to re-appear but it looks like SQL and PHP were amongst the last. . .

Sorry for any inconvenience. I couldn't even contact tech support until it was all fixed. . .

*shrug*

Probably just a power or networking hiccup. It may have even been a planned outage for upgrades.

I don't usually check the site for warnings about this and now that everything is up I probably won't get a chance to look now. . . :)

It has happened once or twice before that I can remember. They still provide 99.5%+ uptime, so I'm not going to complain!

It affected other forums as well.

I couldn't get into the Denial for the vic 20 as well, and then poof! Magcially back to both forums!

If they took down all of LunarPages over my little site then they have a lot less sanity then I usually credit DoS nuts with. . . :D

April Fools jokes generally consist of a joke
which isn't true. In this case something did
happen. Whoever planned it as a April Fools
is rather sick IMO & should have the plug
pulled on their system.

AMEN, brother! Unfortunately, April Fools Day is considered something of a "High Holy Day" among haxorz and wannabees, along with Halloween and Friday the 13th. Many viruses, worms, trojans, etc, carry payloads which deliver thier deadly surprizes on those days.

SO, they really do wannabee a fool on
April Fools, they really don't have a clue
on who the Fool is supposed to be & are
really twisting the definition. FOOL in this
case means they were Fooled into a
joke which is a prank, set by the joker.
A wannabee who is a fool in this case
wants everyone to know that he is the
fool on April Fools day merely sets
themselves up as the target & is hopefully
locked away for being a Fool!

Cheers,
CP/M User.
