Regional Discussions?

Regional Discussions Erik? What does this
involve, does that involve general discussions
about Vinatage Computers in these places? Or
is it like a stock for sale site & the countries
mentioned are where the goods are?

Basically I think they will be useful for regionally local folks to share information and ideas that are regional in nature (things like local computer events, etc.)

But, like other things on the boards, I'm going to let them evolve and see what happens. :D

Shouldn't Eastern and Western Europe have separate areas? I have to assume that the vintage computer scene is very different in the former Soviet Block areas, where they had little or no access to Western technology in the early days. I see the occaisional Russian computer come up on eBay, and some of the popular ones seem to be Sinclair clones produced behind the Iron Curtain (Robik?).

For Australia, sadily Vintage Computing doesn't
seem to be the drill here. Generally I feel that
people don't have a sense of going on with
something & sticking with it here in Australia,
lots of Aussies see a computer as a tool rather
than a hobbie, however I must admit, there's
more Aussies with interest in something vintage
than what I thought.

It could perhaps evolve into a tourist thing (
complete with pictures of landmarks in those
Countries), for Europe, it just mean's more
Countries can join in! ;-)

Let's see what the demands are, and I'm sure Erik can compensate. When it comes to Europe, I think North/South is just as useful as East/West (for me, it is closer to Estonia or Poland than to Spain), but the division probably should be due to geography and travel distances if one of the ideas is to meet, pick up computers etc.
