Oh boy. Talk about a dinosaur. I have only heard of only two others ever being making it into private hands and that was Abaduck who ran the Corestore. I have not heard from him in years though and his registration has expired and the site is long gone.

For that missing board, he's probably the only person I can think of who would know what exactly is missing. He might even sell it if it's present on his basketcase /32.

Edit: Oh, I see. You're just drifting through to drop an ad and never be heard from again.

Auction link for those playing along at home. It's 3 hours left, $49 starting bid and 0 bids. Can't tell the condition though being in that storage/barn/garage, kinda looks like a little rust? It's in Indianapolis if anyone is local (obviously large iron computers are worth saving but can be a bear to find the right person).

Hope then try again if it doesn't sell though. :)

Well, no bidders this time. Something this big should be relisted, or I suppose if fees are a problem posted on the VCGM here for no fees and no percentage taken out of the end sale. Best of luck Brian! You may even want to try cleaning it up a bit. If it turns on it'll be a heck of an easier sale. Some more pics of it cleaner (and without the beer unless some local brew is a bonus) would also do it wonders for sale.

You know, Im gonna contact that guy.. its a 5 hour drive for me to pick that up.. Well worth it, even if its non operational, Wouldnt mind donating that to the historical society in town

Don't you mean they can be a BEER? :p

It's too bad that System 32 had a circuit board removed. If I was that chap, I would have kept it in one piece and set it up in my room! :D
"what's that beside your bed?"
"oh, just System 32".

Does anybody have any idea what one of these would be worth in good condition? The one the seller advertised was very rough but still thought it would have sold at that price?

Just happened to stumble upon the OP's flickr account when searching too and found another picture of the item.

I have one that my father leased in 1974 then purchased. We then went to a system/36 in 1984 and now have a AS400. The 32 was still working when last unpluged. It has always been in a office so it is not rusted like the one in this thread. Is it only worth $50.00?

Tough ti say, theoretically I think that last one didn't sell for $50 lol but yeah a lot was the presentation (rust, trash surrounding it, obviously you'd be cleanin out some bug or small mammal carcases). Increasing the difficulty is the limited amount of people that have the space to save one vs the price to ship it which would be pretty extreme.

To the right collector it may go for more or if you had documentation, etc with it. Where are you located? That will help spark local interest.

My System/32 is located in Jacksonville Florida. I don't believe I have any of the documentation anymore.

It sounds like it's in pretty good condition then, might be worth a call to a local museum perhaps?
