Sun Microsystems keyboard prices

Yahoo auctions of all places has a lot of old sun peripherals that get relisted all the time because nobody ever bids on them. Look into proxies like Buyee and FromJapan to buy from them.

I won a Type 5 keyboard for $15, but then the shipping to Canada was going to end up to be $90 and for whatever reason, only expensive couriers like Fedex and DHL are available to pick. Not any cheaper options like Japan post. Maybe it'll be cheaper for the states? Or maybe the proxy I used (FromJapan) is just expensive with shipping? I'm not sure.

Well I found the best option I could and bought it. It was a type 6 keyboard and mouse listed in Canada. After running the price though Google to find out how much it was in US dollars I decided it was the lowest price I could hope for. Combined with taxes and shipping it cost me about 70 dollars (U.S.). It was an auction so to ensure victory I used a sniping service. (What eBay doesn't know won't hurt them ;) ) It would have cost me much more to buy them separately so I'd say it worked out.

Congrats! It is so much easier to use them (Sun system) with a keyboard and mouse. And they look really cool too.

The issue is that the global postal system seems somewhat borked since COVID; which types of postal shipping are available to which countries still seems to be varying from month to month. Sometimes small packet and the like isn't available even to countries such as Canada, the U.K. or the U.S. EMS is usually available to most countries most of the time, but it's not much cheaper than FedEx or DHL, and more of a hassle for shippers because the shipping information has to be pre-registered on the Japan Post web site before you can take the item to the post office and give it to them, and you still have to wait in line.
