the Summer of Power Outages

When the power goes out, I have enough water for two or three showers. The first person to shower gets a (very) cold shower because there's no wasting water waiting for it to warm up.

With the heavy rain lately we've collected buckets of water for flushing the toilet!

Sounds familiar. I keep jugs of water under the sink for just that purpose.

Our Winter here has had a few short power outages mainly during Heavy Rain or Strong Wind, so I used all my Birthday Gift Cards to purchase an UPS for my old computer. Do you know how long will the Battery generally last for before being Replaced?

I've got well over a dozen and I'd say the batteries last 6 or 7 years at the most.
