Comes with the power supply and the port replicator listed above. Battery holds a charge for no more than about 1 hour. Currently running Windows 98, but I'm told these make excellent Linux machines, provided you know how to get an install on the hard disk.

£40 plus postage or nearest best offer.
Will post worldwide at cost.

Well, I appreciate this post is very old, but came across it and had fond memories of the libretto. I have only just joined and don't appear to be able to find a way to private message rather than posting on an ancient thread, so I will ask the unlikely question - I don't suppose you still have this for sale, kicking around in a draw somewhere?

Dan,

Welcome to the forum. It is very unlikely that this machine is still for sale, 13 years later. However, Librettos are desirable, if not incredibly common, and can be found. For instance, here.

Be prepared to pay to play if you want a Libretto today. They're really terrible machines in terms of longevity. They have the "fake tantalum" electrolytic capacitors that leak corrosive electrolyte and destroy the board. They also have a NiCD rechargeable CMOS battery that leaks, the main battery can leak as well. On top of all of those issues, the plastics are an absolute nightmare. The whole case gets extremely brittle and/or turns to dust when touched.

I restored a 50CT for another member on this forum, and it was a big job that took weeks.

Ideally, you'd want to find one that has already been restored. The ebay listing above is just comical, there's no reality where it's worth anywhere near that in the condition it's in. I don't recommend buying it, you'll spend at least that amount in parts and labor again on top of that price. You'd most likely have to design and 3D print the plastics, or find someone that had a good shell, I don't think there's any saving that existing one.

I have a couple in storage. They were working great when I put them up. Both were in their soft cases. Let me pull them out and if they are working, I would listen to reasonable offers for them. Both had Windows 98 installed as I recall. One may have had a DOS/Win3.1 dual boot. In any case I will locate them and come back here. Neither have been restored so all the issues mentioned above could be prevalent. Cases and hinges are good at least!

So they both work fine although the CMOS battery on the CT50 was drained. The CT50 has DOS 6.22/Win 3.11 and the CT 100 has A dual boot DOS/Win3.1 and Windows 98. If you want any other details let me know.

I bought a CT50 in a great shape a while ago. It was properly packaged but arrived cracked anyway. The plastic case is so brittle that you barely can open a lid without cracking something.

Anybody have a 100CT port replicator laying around? Trying to get my hands on one so I can finally use a normal mouse with it
