Well...., I took it apart and it's not working anymore. I took it apart to find out what brand it was. In the process, I think I (might) have damaged one or more of the video cables. Now it won't display a picture, make a beep, or POST. Everything else does come on. I don't want to scrap this laptop, so I'd like to send this laptop to someone to repair it. Anyone interested in helping?

If the video cables are those flexible membrane types you need replacements they cannot be fixed.

From another laptop of the same model. I assume by video cable you meant from the motherboard to the LCD panel (you broke it you tell me).

It is an Acer AcerNote 970 (or 970CX) laptop. When I was putting it back together, it was a really tight squeeze to get the video cables to plug into their ports. I had to bend them to make it easier to guide the cables into the ports. I might have bent them a little more when I pushed the cable into the port.

I did find a replacement LCD cable for it, however, (with my luck) its not in stock and PCHub is the only place I can find it,
