Hi!

I'm looking for some AST data/restore disks. Basically, just disks containing the original factory software for an AST computer.

If anyone has anything like this, that would be great!

Hi PS2it, and apologies for bumping this ancient thread - I’ve just joined and can’t see a DM option.
Please could you tell me what the make and model of the main monitor is in your profile photo? Long story, but back in around 1991-2 I bought a PC that came with a monitor very similar to IBMs with that shape and colour scheme. Except, I’m sure it was a Tandy branded one with the Tandy logo in the middle on the front. Driving me crazy trying to find it. Best I can think of is that the monitor was a rebranded IBM clone (it had no space for the usual IBM logo on the bezel either). It was capable of SVGA and I’m sure it had a rocker switch to power on plus the brightness controls that are on the on in your photo.

Cheers, and sorry again admins for bumping the thread. 👍

Welcome to the forum @Demat !

Those two monitors are IBM PS/2 VGA monitors. The one on the right is probably an 8512 or 8513 12 or 13” VGA monitor, and the one on the left is either a mono or color VGA monitor built into a PS/2 model 25 all-in-one PC.

Thanks!
- Alex

Welcome!

As Alex mentioned, the one to the left is a monochrome PS/2 Model 25. The one to the right is actually a tiny monochrome VGA monitor from an IBM 4683 POS system. Interestingly, I can't seem to pull anything up online about this little guy.

Here's a better picture of them!

Good luck with your search!
