  • From now on we will require that a prefix is set for any items in the sales area. We have created regions and locations for this. We also require that you select a delivery option before posting your listing. This will hopefully help us streamline the things that get listed for sales here and help local people better advertise their items, especially for local only sales. New sales rules are also coming, so stay tuned.

What a price !!

Know its not related to the Tandy RS forum

but there is an Ebay Item you have got to check out ----------> 223217799414

I think we’ve just about all seen that Lisa 1 by now. It’s very overpriced, even for what it is.

Why did this have to be in the Tandy/Radio Shack forum? The “Later Apple” forum would’ve been the right place for this.

Two have sold for $55,000 so they're not *entirely* out of their minds. I think as a Buy It Now it is less tempting to potential buyers as it presents the cost of their foolishness up front. People seem to loosen their purse strings more in a maelstrom of crazy auction bidding. I'd bet if they gambled on an auction, they'd get at least $50k for it.

Most of the ones that have came up on eBay recently that have went for close to $50,000 would sell, get relisted, sell, get relisted and so on. Always seemed like something fishy was going on with them, so I'm not sure what they are *actually* worth.

They win it and then realize the $50k is trifling compared to what the divorce lawyer is going to cost.

I regret my tracker does not yet track serials for Lisa, although it should as it would illuminate a lot. But I know one of them appeared to be quite legit. There was even a 'power up test' video of it posted on youtube, booting off a hand labelled Twiggy disk.

They got pretty crazy years ago. I saw them going for thousands. It was rare to see a Lisa 2 back then. Now there are 2 or 3 up for sale all the time, so yeah, couple thousand, usually less, is the high water mark now.

Buyer Beware: Those photographs belong to a friend of mine who sold that Lisa 1 almost a decade ago. He's aware that that set of photos keeps being used on other listings but he has no control over that. Still, it raises massive red flags as nobody in their right mind wanting that much money is THAT incapable of taking their own photos.....I mean, Apple fanboys aren't THAT stupid.

Didn’t know that! That tells me this listing is likely a complete fraud, and they probably don’t have a Lisa 1.

I suspected that was what was going on...

Since no-one is going to buy it at that price through ebay, I bet they're getting a lot of 'offers' or people reaching to them, and they're probably taking those interactions off of ebay. Lots of 'Western Union' payments :)

I sent the person a message asking for some photos of their actual Lisa. We’ll see what happens :)

Edit: Okay, here’s what they said: “That is the one. Are you just asking for pictures or you interested as a buyer?”.

I told them I was interested, I know that these pictures are almost 10-years-old, and that I’d like to see som current pictures of it. :) Of course I’m not REALLY interested, just seeing if they’re full of it or not.

I remember someone getting on a vintage Apple forum once and swearing he had a Lisa 1. (Only one of many of the ridiculous things that came out of that guy.) After merciless "pictures or it didn't happen" badgering he decided to "prove it" by taking a picture of one of those blue Rubbermaid totes under a pile of garbage in his filthy bedroom closet and claiming the Lisa 1 was inside. (And of course it was too much trouble to dig it out and open it.) Maybe that's the Lisa that's for sale here!
