What are the Steps for getting TU58 Running ??

If you need any of the M9312 device boot proms programmed let me know. A while back I bough a box of (literally) 500 82S129 parts on eBay for a song. Nobody else wanted them, I guess. They work fine for M9312 device boot PROMs as 256x4 TS. DEC specified 512x4 TS devices, but then grounded the upper address line and left half of the device blank. Go figure.

Anyway, let me know if you need any specific boot PROMs for the M9312 I can program them and send them along. Whatever device(s) you want. Probably 'DD', maybe others. I find the 'ZZ' device very useful in my 11/34.

Send me a PM with your device request and mailing address. Will do small quantity for gratis. Goes for anyone reading this also.

Hi All;
Don, I very much appreciate Your offer.. I would gladly take you up on it, If it were for the M9301.. But first I need to find out what is in the M9301 and IF possible match it up with the listing for the various M9312 proms as a guide.. and then find an area that has something that I won't use and then I can have it programmed..
Also, I think something else failed om the PDP 11/45 when the Registers are Front Panel accessed the address leds jump from '177700 to '000010 when I do an examine.. and Now the programs don't work like before..
THANK YOU Marty

Hi All;
Don, Thank You for the Link, I already have that Document.. But, I will Re-Look at it again, Maybe I missed something.. But, more than likely they are Non-working units.. Also, Thank You for pointing out the correct CPU Prom.. I'LL check which board it is in..
THANK YOU Marty

Hi All;

I am Pretty sure I found a SHORT on the M7856 Board, I also looked for other possible 'shorts'..
I was checking the Back of the Board's switch settings with an Ohm Meter, when I saw the possible short..
Very often, they have the "pin" of the Ic Bent at an angle and the end of the Pin cut off..
Well over time the Pin get bent down over a Trace that is running along side of it, and so a possible short, especially if the Masking is/ or has warn off some or all the way.. And so I take an old Dull Xacto knife and bend the pin up so it is straight instead of bent..
THANK YOU Marty

I have also found over time that many DIP switches do not function correctly, especially if you change them from open to closed or vice versa. They just don't age well, I have replaced several now where a switch was either stuck open or closed.

When reconfiguring a board, or bringing up a new board with switches, I will use an ohmmeter to validate the open/closed status of each switch position. Makes for eliminating a lot of head scratching later when the board is running at 2400baud when you were certain you set the switches to run at 9600baud, etc.

Hi All;
Don, Thanks for the reply..
My switches were all Ok, when I checked them for the 9600 Baud settings.. And I checked them All, just to be sure, Baud Rate , Vector, Address, number of bits and Parity..
But, Your right Don, I have found and seen that in the Past..
THANK YOU Marty
