A phpBB bug, a problem with the server, or what?

I upgraded the software this weekend. I might have missed something.

What were you doing when the error popped up?

I'll check to see if it was me or if it was a transient problem.

Thanks,

Erik

I was attempting to post a message like I normally do (General-->Birthday). I tried several times with same result. I switched to this forum and posted the above msg. as a test. It posted with no problem. The really weird thing is, I just checked the original forum, and my post is there. It posted despite the error message to the contrary.

Actually it posted several times. I deleted two exact copies of the same message and left the third behind.

If you can, please post to that thread again and let me know what happens.

Thanks,

E

I haven't seen the problem either.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it was a transient glitch. . .

Thanks,

E

I just did a bit more research and found that my hosting provider was having email difficulties over the weekend.

Others experienced exactly the same thing you did.

It seems to have been resolved.

Thanks again!

Erik

The error mentions SMTP - did Terry reply to someone who have requested to get an email reminder everytime someone replies, and the actual email sending from the server didn't work?

I kinda thought it was something along those lines because the error message, however cryptic, seems to indicate that the message bounced from the mailserver, (pegasus.lunarpages.com) rather than a problem with the BB software.

I get the server to send e-mails when people reply. I had no
difficulties or errors from this end.

Of course you would not notice an error in sending email if you are on the receiving end but don't get a particular message. At least not unless you later find out that you should've received a message but didn't.

What are you guys controlling the system or
something?!?

Blocking Eriks access maybe judged a criminal
offence.

They aren't Blue & White with a large microphone?

Or Military Coloured? ;-)

Do FBI & CIA have Helicopters?

Well, I don't know, I'm just guessing they are some
sort of Police Helicopter. Are they?

Cheers,
CP/M User.

Nobody really knows just what they are. We only know that there is something sinister about them. Black Helicopters have been associated with Men In Black, who in turn, have been connected to the Illuminati, NWO, etc.

I should have realised there was some Goverment
Cover Conspiracy tied up with the 'Black' Heli's! ;-)
