What was your greatest or wildest needle in a haystack poor score, or pick up?

Back when my city used to hold in-person surplus auctions, one year, they had a couple 'tower cases' for the Amiga 1200. I grabbed them BOTH for $20, as it piqued my interest in getting back into the Amiga platform.
(the city went online-only at the start of the human malware situation and after raking in money hand over fist the last few years they made it clear they are NEVER going back to in-person auctions. Bah.)

Anyway, it turned into a bigger project than I planned, so I put them on the E place hoping to at least recoup my investment. Boy howdy - you should have seen the look on my face when I saw the closing bid: $330!!!!

No but I bet she's pleased about the price those things fetch when you resell them.
Fleabay is drowning in broken ones so when I post one where I have a recapped motherboard, recapped powersupply, perfect screen, new CMOS and new keyboard cable I can't get $350 for them. I can wait.

Found three CIB IDE CDrom drives at a little thrift store today. Very interesting thing to find out in the wild, as it were. Unfortunately with the $20 asking price I let them stay at the store. Much as I love to collect CIB equipment, IDE CDROM are just not that exciting.
