Hi guys,
Shot in the dark, but does anyone have a Roland MPU-IMC card and breakout box they can sell me? Or any other Microchannel Sound card?
Trying to get some sound out of my PS/2's.
Years ago I had a parallel port sound card that worked ok, wish I would have kept it!
Thanks,
Alex

In USA.

Finally got a Sound Blaster Pro MCV card.
Still looking for a Roland MPU-IMC if anyone has one.
Thanks,
Alex

Wow... the SB Pro MCV? Nice find!

Mind if I ask from where and how much? Was it complete or bare card?

I've been looking for one for awhile, but can't go as high as the sellers seem to want when I have ran across them (though one guy sold one out from under me to a person with a similar handle thinking it was me - doh!)

I was very fortunate to have gotten this card for free. It was in a box filled with Microchannel cards in a lot I got from a fine gentleman that posted here last month. I did have to drive five hours each way to get the lot though.
Well worth it. I have never had or used a Microchannel sound card before.
Still looking for that MPU-IMC though...

Oh, VERY nice find!! That gentleman didn't know what he had. The last one I saw go at auction (only 3 in 2 years) went for > $300 USD.

I'll trade you an MPU-IMC, breakout box, and MT-32 for your SB MCV Pro :D

(not the one that I got from you, Pete - I picked up a spare set off of the VCGM last year as well)

If I had a spare I would trade. With only one in my possession I can't.

Closing the loop on this one too. Finally got a Roland MPU-IMC in the box! Patience is truly a virtue in this hobby.
I did notice (after I purchased this thing) that SoftMPU 1.8 allows you to emulate intelligent mode MPU-401 emulation over a serial port!

There was a new sealed SB Pro MCV that went for around a grand a year ago or so.
At the time I didn't have the money so I didn't join it. And later I discovered people had issues with those cards on higher clocked PS/2s, so, I'll probably pass unless I get one for cheap to experiment with on a 9595.
--> I'm sure there's a way to get it to behave on a 60 Mhz CPU.
