Replacement for potted ATD-20 combo RTC/battery IC?

Did you ever dissect it? I'm curious. I'm trying to resurrect a 1000 and a 1000SX. Both have serial boards/ram expansion/RTCs on them and they all have this ATD-20 Clock/Calander chip that is dead. If somebody else didn't figure out how to bodge something together, I guess I'll be the test rat.

    Sun Blade 100 NVRAM reprogramming

I know this was a year ago but, what was your EEPROM's physical address? Was it fff58000? That's what I'm getting and I have no clue where to go from there. I'm totally lost and just feel like I'm 13 trying to figure out computers for the 1st time. But I'm in my 40s and I've been programming for...

Need Files off Power Mac 7500

But the external drives have to be connected for me to get anything besides a grey screen with a cursor in the corner. I have verified 100% that there is no conflict of IDs. I just wish I could isolate the quantum drive by itself in the same fashion I could do if it was IDE and ext or fat...

Need Files off Power Mac 7500

I have 5 SCSI devices. -Internal Apple/Conner HD (No jumpers present so that's ID 0 IAW the manual.) -Internal Quantum HD (No jumpers present so I'm assuming that means ID 0 but I can't find documentation to confirm. Optional jumpers are labeled 8, 4, 2, and 1) -Internal AppleCD 600i (jumpers...

Need Files off Power Mac 7500

New update. I connected the external Apple CD and the external HDD. I disconnected the Quantum drive inside the machine, and it booted as long as I dissabled everything. I can't seem to open or run anything as it keeps complaining that the disk which contains the original item could not be...

Need Files off Power Mac 7500

I am not familiar with how Mac handles SCSI. My only experience has been with Sun servers/workstations. I am making the assumption that, since the previous owner was given this computer already upgraded and he basically knows nothing about computers from talking to him, that he never messed with...

Need Files off Power Mac 7500

Neighbor of mine said he had a few old computers sitting around. I could have them if I would try to get his files off of them for him. Having no clue what types of computers they were, I said no problem figuring worse case, I end up with some junk but I help out a neighbor. Turned out 2 of the...

How to fix Vinegar Syndrome on NEC Supertwist LCD from 1986

I haven't tried to peal anything off yet. I did clamp it back together and thankfully it still works. It looks like the rear reflector is ruined. If you look closely at it working, you can see the damage is behind the crystal layer, like the reflection layer is melted.

How to fix Vinegar Syndrome on NEC Supertwist LCD from 1986

I have been working on restoring an original 1986 NEC Multispeed. I have 1 piece left to the puzzle... The LCD panel appears to be melted. Somebody on Facebook said it looked like vinegar syndrome. Sure enough, it does reak of vinegar, but the question is, how do I fix it? I have tried to look...

Need information from NEC Multispeed Manual

Does anybody have the manuals for an original NEC Multispeed? I have been searching online for days with no luck. All I'm really looking for is the dip switch settings. If anybody has these settings, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm attempting to restore my NEC Multispeed that was...

Is this some type of temp sensor? Would anybody have any clue where to get a new one?

I am trying to construct a new battery pack for an NEC Multispeed laptop. I opened the existing battery pack so I could figure out how the batteries are arranged, it's just 8 Ni-Cd R14s in series which I figured. However, I forgot about what appears to be a temp sensor or something. I was also...

    My collection reborn

My first computer was a Tandy 1000 SX which my dad set up for the family. I was probably 5 at the time. I'm told we had a Commodore 64 before that, but I don't remember it, and my dad sold it in part to buy the Tandy. This was the first computer I learned Basic on and lit my interest in the...

    TRS-80 Model 100 Floppy Drive 26-3808

I recently obtained a Model 100 and a portable floppy drive CA# 26-3808. The problem is, that's all I have. I need the serial cable to connect the two. I don't mind trying to make one if somebody knows the pinout of this odd 8pin RS-232C connector on the back of this drive. I found the technical...
