  • From now on we will require that a prefix is set for any items in the sales area. We have created regions and locations for this. We also require that you select a delivery option before posting your listing. This will hopefully help us streamline the things that get listed for sales here and help local people better advertise their items, especially for local only sales. New sales rules are also coming, so stay tuned.

Texas Computer Reset in Dallas is still going for just a little while (new LGR video Feb. 2022)

Covers: Texas
VCF Southeast and the Southern Fried Gaming Expo was most excellent! The talk went perfectly after an audience member had a power extension cable so I could use my laptop. That helped because they didn't have a speaker facing monitor on their set up so I could tell where I was in the animated slides. We had about 80 people at least in a pretty full room and lots of excellent questions.

The session was recorded from 2 angles and they will be editing and posting it online "soon." When they do, I'll update this thread.

I also picked up enough dead Neo Geo PCBs at the flea market part of the event to pay for the trip. I also got a VIC-20 there too with one of my favorite arcade games - Sega Star Trek. I just have to repair and sell the Neo Geo boards now. Also picked up a PSR-32 and some other goodies at area thrift stores.

The trip wasn't without incident. We almost got rear-ended by a truck on I-20 going full speed after we stopped at the back of a long line of traffic in a construction zone. I was half dozing and saw my son put on the hazards as he was slowing down... then I hear "HE'S NOT STOPPING" followed by him jerking the wheel to the right and punching the gas. The truck squealed brakes and narrowly missed us and the propane truck in front of us. He went airborne then rode down about 200 feet of steel cable fencing and steel poles down the center of the median before coming back up on the highway, narrowly missing a car in front of us, and coming to a stop on the right hand shoulder.

We also avoided 2 other multi-mile backups on I-20, one in Alabama close to the Georgia border and one just west of Marshall, TX. We took the back roads to go from I-20 to I-30 and to the Bush in Dallas to avoid almost all of the going home rush-hour traffic. That was NICE.

Oh, and I get to go take a COVID rapid test today. I'm stuffy and running a feve//

Dude, just make a new posting, NOT hitch a ride on a dead posting! It's annoying to get notices of something new on a dead posting!

Doesnt bother me. Wouldnt really consider this post dead till its been dormant for a while.. And it hasnt been. This post was started this year. Its only July.

See that button in the upper right corner that says UNWATCH.... wonder what that does...

I dont think its polite to be a somewhat newcomer and tell people what to do here. Especially those that have been members for 10 years. I think we know how this forum works.

Kinda late to this, but is there anything left at the warehouse? They have (or, had) some very interesting stuff there.

My dude, you are so late to the party that CR's not only done and gone, but the buyer gutted the building, put down a new coat of paint and it's back on the market again.

Nooooo... Is there another place like this warehouse anywhere?

What I own is less then 1/10th this place had. I wanted to make the pilgrimage. Just too far to be viable sadly. Crossing fingers on something similar in the midwest... :p

I am glad I was way too far away to take a trip to that place when it was around. I used to crawl over a local recycler that got semi truckloads of old computers in weekly and purchased way too many things there as it was.

A multi floor warehouse and office space packed like a GOAT hoarders wet dream would have been too much for me, plus the Texas heat would have killed me anyway.
