Hi,

I haven't heard anything either ... this is one of the things I hate about forums that don't forward DMs to their email addresses.

This forum does exactly that, OP either has that turned off, or is ignoring the emails (or they are somehow getting dropped into their spam folder).

Hi,

I've never gotten an email from the forum for my posts ... just the mail or bell icon lights up when I've opened the forum in the browser.

Like Walt, I am not receiving any email notices when new posts are made in threads in which I participate. I just checked this setting in my preferences, and it is checked. After this, I considered that maybe my email address was incorrect, but it is correct in my Account Details. Is there anywhere else that I should check?
 
I moved this into it's own thread as it was getting off topic from the original.

If you are not getting these emails from the forum, then I would recommend you check your SPAM folder to make sure it's not being flagged as SPAM.

If it helps, the emails are coming from forum_noreply@vcfed.org, and should pass both DKIM and SPF checks.

By the way, according to Akamai's MDBR system your domain (granzeier.com) is a known malicious (phishing) domain. I don't think that would have anything to do with it, but you never know.

After I joined I would receive emails alerts for threads that I was watching/participating in. This stopped last June or so. I received an email from admin Bob R. He was trying to figure out why the server (a very large one that everybody knows about) was rejecting the emails. We had a short email exchange on the issue.

It was not solved. It is not important to me although I can understand that it may be more important to others and especially under certain circumstances. Below, you can see my current settings. As this is not my first forum rodeo, I can appreciate the complexity of getting software to work for everybody, every time, but want to let you know that I also have experienced problems in this regard.

Edit: I should add that I am well versed in spam folders and the like - in my case, I do not believe the emails ever came through because they were not in any folders.

@syzygy Thanks for the info, that was going to be my next guess as to what was going on here (ie the emails were not making it out of the forum system), but I know that I have been receiving them and I also use a very large, well known email service provider). But come to think of it, I am not sure when the last one I got was, so I'll need to dig into that.

I'll probably also need to ping Bob about it as well.
 
I haven't received any updates via email since the forum moveover. Maybe its just yahoo being yahoo. I'll move it over to my gmail and see if it works.
 
Interesting. I've done some mail testing and the forum seems to be able to send email just fine, to several of my email addresses.

If anyone would like me to send some test emails to their personal email, please contact me via PM.

Yeah, I did some tests as well. It was working. And like I said earlier, SPF and DKIM look good as well.

If we can identify specific people having this issue, we may be able to work out what's going on.
 
I haven't gotten one in about a year.

The headers in that one indicate a possible issue, but again, it's ancient. I'll PM the headers to Alex though.
 
Changed my email to gmail, not 1 message has come through... And I know its not blocked, as I was able to confirm the email change.
 
I get alert emails Most of the time but not always, and they do not show up in the spam folder. They just dont show up sometimes.
 
I get that behavior on some historical threads. It shows I’m subscribed, but no email. I figure it’s a problem in the conversion from the old software. If I unsubscribe and subscribe again it usually works again. Everything recent works normally.

I just initiated a test email to you. Did you get it?

I am on gmail as well and I am getting the test emails. I wonder if the forum is not actually sending out the other type of emails.
