Very strange: I just drove by one that appears to be in business, in Chilton, WI.
Privately owned probably. I have an Arthur Treachers fish and chips store by me, only 7 left in the world out of 800 that used to be after the corp. went bankrupt.
I need a few things. Could you stop in maybe?
Do they still serve f & c in used newspapers in the UK? I know they did up until the mid 90s. Not for anything, but isn't that unappetizing?
probably common place in the UK (despite being served in yesterday's newspaper)
Not newspaper any more and hasn't been for ages. I think that was rare by the mid 80s, even before it was actually banned. Nowadays you are most likely to get plain paper of the same sort, but some rather "pseudo"/wannabe-trendy places have special greaseproof paper that is printed with foodsafe ink to resemble newsprint... daft...
There are several hundred independently owned Radio Shack stores still in business today.
Is it all it's cracked up to be, even these days? Is the fish caught locally or shipped in from somewhere?
