    Midwest Commodore Book Lot

I am paring down my Commodore Book library by selling some duplicate books I have. I have them listed for $125 + shipping on eBay, but for forum members I am willing to sell for a flat $100 in the US, $125 for Canadian members, and for international members who may be interested, please message...

Vicky-Twenty Build Question on L4 - The Choak

Thank you, my choak in L4 is in the same orientation at the one int he video, and it looks to be very similar to my part. Plus the voltage at the chips and ports are correct, it was just something I noticed taking another look at it.

Vicky-Twenty Build Question on L4 - The Choak

I have been back and stepping away from a no video Vicky-Twenty build for about two years now. All the MOS chips work (tested in a good working VIC-20 CR board), all parts are soldered (no missed pins), ect. Taking another look at the board, I notices something on L4, the Choke. One corner is...

    Grappler CD by Orange Micro

The only documentation I seem to be able to find for the thing is the old ad insert.

    Grappler CD by Orange Micro

I recently bought a printer interface cartridge for my Commodore 64, a Grappler CD by Orange Micro. I needed it for the interface as one of my printers is not the usual serial DIN connector, and I liked this because the cover is translucent (I like my see thru tech). It plugs into the cartridge...

    VIC-20 Repair Book Recommendations

The ROMS all work, they were socketed on both the CR board and my vicky-twenty build so I was able to swap them out. But I was more or less asking about books I guess because I don't have any on VIC-20 repairs, so I was just curious. The tangent at the start was just me rambling.

    VIC-20 Repair Book Recommendations

I have a Vicky-Twenty build that is giving me some problems (no video, voltages at chips look good, all MOS chips work without issue in a working CR VIC-20 I have, known working video cable with a 1702 monitor) and I have watched some videos on VIC-20 issues involving black videos, and so far...

    Commodore 64 video cable help

True, I over simplified it. I should have said there isn't a SINGLE standard connector, there are multiple, but they are standardized among their part numbers

Midwest WANTED: KETEK Computer Commander for Breadbin Commodore Systems

I am in the market for a KETEK Computer Commander for the breadbin 64's simply because my most commonly used systems are my breadbin 64 and VIC-20. They made models for the 64C and 128 (biggest difference was the lower spacing for the system on the 64C and the drive bay shapes and overall size...

    Commodore 64 video cable help

Also, do you have a link to the item on Amazon? The issue with Amazon (and eBay) is a lot if just cheap junk with Commodore slapped in the name to get sales, but as @powerlot noted may not use connectors that are compatible as the DIN sockets weren't really standardized in the shape.

    1541C drive stuck at loading

When you power it on, does the drive light come on, and then turn off after the initial spin up of te drive?

    PET 4032 Keyboard Circuit Board

It sounds like the pads may be compressed to me, if they work when you press them against the exposed bored but when inserted to the try you need to press hard/at an angle. You can try painting them with conductive paint/using a pencil to see if that helps, otherwise if you look you can find...

Value of brand new, unopened Commodore PET 2001-8N found in basement

That is the second new old stock PET Style VIC-20 I have seen (Mine was the first) but sadly the box mine was in was badly damaged, but everything else was new. Still had the protective film over the badges and everything.

    Vic-20 printer interface

I am just wondering if you figured this out

    C64 needs VIC chip

If you paid via PayPal, that is a legit challenge. He advertised it as tested and working and you got it otherwise. I have had to do that before and PayPal is pretty good at holding sellers to the terms. That buyer may blacklist you, but VIC-ii's are not cheat

    Vic-20 printer interface

I think it uses the ground on the serial port, but you may want to double check, if you find a PDF of the manual or schematics of the device it should confirm

    Vic-20 printer interface

The pinout is the same on the top and the bottom for the datasette connector, just solder the wire to the pin shown below and would could be good. There are even 3D print models for the datasette connectors if you want something easier to put on/remove.

    Vic-20 printer interface

I think that was to draw the 5v from the power on that connector. it is an easy fix is you have a 6 pin edge connector

    C64 needs VIC chip

Just an odd question, but do you know if the C64 in question works when you put in a known working VC-ii? I just ask because the seller is listing them as tested on the auction, and with multiple failing I was just wondering before you spend to much on replacement chips.
