OOH $449.00 seems a lot for some DEC TAPEs, but OTOH it's not like they are making any more of these, as they say.

I wonder if the buyer was mainly interested in using the tapes, or hoping to recover some interesting files off of them, or if they just wanted to add them to a collection with the bonus storage case.

Hopefully it's someone who can recover the data. They were almost all early PDP-11 source tapes.

I don't think I've ever seen one of those cases before. I'm guessing no one is making any more of those either.

The auction started at $25 and I don’t see anything of value being there is nothing like a Basic compiler or XXDP or Diagnostics, just looks like copied files. But I must be missing something.

Josh said that Living Computers: Museum + Labs bought those tapes, so whatever contents they still contain will be preserved.
